How do I register a new product with My Property Locker?
Manually enter your product’s make, model, serial number and retail price into "Your Locker." You may also attach a picture or receipt of the product for further security and identification.
Use our scan tool inside of our mobile app to make it more convenient. Simply go into "Your Locker" on any mobile device and click on the SCAN TOOL. Then scan the bar code on the back of any of your products and watch all the information you would normally have to manually enter into your locker, automatically appear!
Examples of an identifying photo include but are not limited to specific carvings, scratches, unique paintwork, or something that makes your product stand out from others of the same description.
What do I do when I sell a product registered to me on My Property Locker?
At the time you sell your product, you are responsible for transferring your item to the buyer’s My Property Locker account. If the buyer does not have an account, you are responsible for deleting the item from your account.
What if the same product (i.e. serial number) is registered more than once or on separate accounts?
If the same product is registered more than once, the first person to register is notified of the duplication. For security, both parties are required to provide additional identifying information about the item. If the issue is still unable to be resolved, the item is flagged. My Property Locker is notified for a pending investigation.
What do I do when I buy a product registered to someone else on My Property Locker?
If you do not have a My Property Locker account at the time of purchase, you are eligible to sign up for an account. It is free, quick, and easy! Once you have an account, the seller can transfer the product to your account. If the seller forgets to transfer the product, the buyer can register the product under his or her account. At this point, the seller will be notified of the new registry and will be asked to relinquish ownership of the product. If the seller does not comply, both parties will be required to provide additional information about the item. If the issue is still unable to be resolved, the item is flagged and My Property Locker is notified for a pending investigation.
How do I sign up for a My Property Locker account?
At the My Property Locker home page, simply click on the "Register New User" button. You will be required to enter additional personal information and will then be logged into the database.
Does anyone have access to my account?
Nobody has access to your account. However, if law enforcement officials have recovered your property, they have the ability to enter the serial number and will receive your contact information so your item can be returned.
What do I do when my personal property is stolen?
Contact local law enforcement to report any crimes that may have occurred.
If you have an item registered on My Property Locker and it is stolen, you may report it through the website. Click on the "Report Issue" button under your product and select the appropriate issue. You may be contacted by your local law enforcement for additional details. You should also contact your insurance provider to report the crime. Having your product registered with My Property Locker is a tool to help prove ownership and insure your claim is handled properly.
What do I do when my personal property is lost in a natural disaster?
If you have an item registered on My Property Locker and it is lost in a natural disaster, you may report it through the website. Click on the "Report Issue" button under your product and select the appropriate issue. You should also contact your insurance provider to report the event. Having your product registered with My Property Locker helps prove ownership and allows your insurance provider to settle your claim.
Can I register a product at the time of purchase?
Numerous retail stores are affiliated with My Property Locker and allow you to register your products at the time of purchase, simply ask your cashier!
Do I need a serial number to register a product?
Having a serial number is the most reliable way to register a product. However, you may also register non-serialized items such as jewelry, artwork, etc. For products of this nature, an identifying photo must be taken of the product. Any of the property’s unique identifying marks should be documented as well.
How do I register a product with no serial number?
For products that are not serialized (i.e. jewelry, artwork, furniture, etc.), an identifying photo must be taken. Examples of an identifying photo include but are not limited to specific carvings, scratches, or dents, unique paintwork or something that makes your product stand out from others of the same description.
Is there anything that I am unable to register on My Property Locker?
The sky is the limit! Just remember that when the product is no longer yours, you must delete it from your account or transfer it to the corresponding buyer.

Occasionally, with fires and natural disasters, families are heartbroken and may not think of all the little things that they owned when filing an insurance claim. Now, it is simple, just turn to your My Property Locker account where all of your belongings are listed in your own secure database.
Can I change my account information?
You may change your account information at anytime, in your settings after you log in.
What happens when I notify My Property Locker of a stolen item?
After notifying My Property Locker of a stolen item, the item is flagged in the database. Local law enforcement will have access to this item, as well as to who it belongs to. If law enforcement is able to locate the item (via visual identification), the item will be returned to its proper owner. Depending on the item that was stolen, it is recommended that you alert your insurance provider of the issue, as it may take time for law enforcement to locate the item, or it may never be located.

Personal accounts with "Unlimited access" will remain for personal use only. My Property Locker has a right to remove accounts which violate this policy. Each property locker’s storage is monitored and violations will be enforced.
